OD Kicked Off While Driving Down The Street? 200 1988

I was coming home from work, doing about 50 when the OD came off with a snap. I made it the remaining 25 miles home doing 40mph. I have transmission fluid leaking out of this transmission and I think it is coming out of the right side. I noticed last week that I was driving home in one gear so I checked the fluid and it was off the stick. I filled it up and have put another few hundred miles on the car. This afternoon the OD light lit up and I could not get it to come off. What is your diagnosis? Fuse? OD relay? Wire or cable came off? I am too fat to get under the car so all I can do is peek in the from the sides. I don't see much but I suspect I see transmission fluid leaked onto the catalytic converter on the right side. Where should I start looking?
