High Output Coil 140-160

If you are getting soot (not slime) on the plugs the mixture IS too rich.
The SUs could be suffering from leaks around the throttle shafts which
makes you tune them too rich at running speed to get a tractable idle.

I don't think a hotter coil will help but hotter spark plugs might.
You might try some BP5HS NGK plugs. They are a notch hotter than
the normal BP6HS.
