E-code headlight update - can't get the nuts off the old lights! 200 1990

My e-codes arrived from the UK yesterday! They're in fantastic condition, truly like-new genuine Cibie/Volvo units. Today I was trying to get the nuts loose from the old DOT lights, and got three of them loose between the two lights. The rest are rusted solid to their bolts, which in the process of me trying to loosen them, broke free and now spin. There isn't enough clearance to get a nut splitter down there.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to remove the lens/reflector assembly from the black mounting apparatus, so I can get some vice grips or similar on the mounting bolts?

Thanks,
Brian
