volvo racer needs help! 200 1984

Ok Volvo freaks I need your help! Our local oval track has started a class for 4 cylinder cars and we are building a automatic non turbo Volvo 240. This is a entry level class, put a roll cage in a junkyard car and go. We saved this volvo from being crushed by a monster truck and started building it as a race car. I hope it will surprise some people. When people see it they all laugh, I hope they won't be laughing after the first race. I need to get information about what year make and model cars will have CHEAP junkyard hop up parts. Everything is suppose to be STOCK, but you know how racers are. Here are a few ideas so far:

Different camshaft- I guess a K cam is biggest, are these letters on the cams? where do I find one?

Springs- What springs out of what car can I use to stiffen up the right side.

Rear end- do they all have same rear end ratio? What year has what ?

Any other Ideas? I don't want to spend too much money because one of the rules to the class is that anyone can purchase your car for $777.00. So far we have spent about $400.
