240 vs. pothole.... rear end problem....opinions? 200

I hit an un-avoidable pothole tonight at around 30-35 mph in my 90 240 and it bent the rear passenger side steel rim. But wait, it gets worse...

I now have a noise in the rear end that is not brakes/emergency brake related. The sound is not a squeal or a metallic whine, it is a scraping, kind of clunk-clunk-clunk sound.

This scraping sound increases in speed with the car. I did not drive the car more than a mile or so after it happened. I took it to a repair shop up the street and left it there, since I was 2 hours from home.

Did I just waste the rear end? or is it just a bearing issue? Or maybe something else?

thanks!
