1995 Volvo 960 jerking at high mph 900

hello everyone.....i just purchased a used 960 sedan from a wholesaler in Chicago. my father picked it up for me and conveyed everything seems to be running well with the exception of when he started on the highway.....fine when accelerating up to 65+ mph, but when he slows down a bit and then begins to accelerate again, the car begins to jerk slightly......any ideas on what this problem could be manifesting from?
