245GL '85 idles but stalls when accerator pressed 200

HI ALL:

My daughters '85 245 had problems about one year past and was diagnosed to be a bad AMM which was replaced. Near the same time I replaced the in tank pre-pump and fuel fitlter. Since then we have had no problems and then all of a sudden a few days past it would not run when engaged in drive and accerator depressed.

The Air box wax thermostat was not replaced last year! I suspect that the AMM is fried, but do not understand as the avg temp here has not been above 40F and is usually below 20F at night. I had my daughter disconnect the AMM and it idles OK but still stalls when engaging drive and depressing gas pedal. It will not keep running in "limp mode" with the AMM disconnected.

I will replace the AMM with a spare 007 (good one) and replace the wax thermostat in the air box to see if that in fact solves the issue.

If this does not work any suggestions on what I should look for. Could it be the O2 sensor? Idle is running above normal of ~800rpm and for the last few weeks at ~1000rpm. Could this be a possible (vacuum leak)? if so where to look?

Thanks for you expert help
