Injection Fuel Pump 140-160

I'm in the proces of building an Amazon. Since I will eventualy run some kind of EFI on this car, this is the time to get things sorted (the car is on its side right now).

I have a D-jet fuel pump. I was planning on fitting it on the car but have some questions:
-is de D-jet pump the same as K-jet?
-can one use the electic fuel pump on carbs, instead of the mechanical (cam driven? (perhaps in combination with an adjustable fuel regulator?))
-the fuel pump I have works, but it leaks around the electric connection stud. Common? Fixable? Can I open up the pump by bending those 'dents' in the housing open? Or is there an other way to close this leak?
-could I perhaps use ANY kind of fuel pump from any car instead of this old leaky one?

Any other tips and tricks when it commes to fitting the fuel plumbing for injection on a amazon?

Cheers all, Ben
