Mounting a Volvo Cargo/Dog gate....missing pieces? 900 1995

Greetings,

Anyone with a factory dog gate might be able to help me with this.

I purchased an OEM Volvo Dog/cargo gate on eBay. Apparently it did not come with all of the mounting pieces, or else I am confused.

Is there supposed to be some sort of insert that connects the gate to the mounting plate? The ends of the gate tubes look like they accept some sort of keyed cylinderical piece, that then can slide into the keyed bracket mounted to the ceiling. I can't see any other way this thing could mount.
