European Turn Signals 700

I remember reading an online post somewhere from someone who converted their front turn signals into eurostyle (all white) by removing the yellow reflector pieces in the lenses. Sounds simple enough, but he mentioned having to modify the lens slightly to account for the difference in reflective candle power. Anyone know of that post or maybe has done it to their brick? I want to do it to my 1990 740, and wanted to avoid the problem with the bulb reflecton.
thanks, MikeN
