Nivomat installation 900 1992

Hello All,

I recently bought a '92 965 with 211K. I have all records since 20K. The PO states that the rear shocks were replaced around 150K. Before I bought it, I noticed that the rear end was pretty low (~1.5-2" above the tire). Read the FAQ, and figured that the nivomats had failed since it stayed low after driving it.

This AM, I took a look, and realized that the PO had put in standard shocks! I know about the nivomat conversion possibility. How can I tell if the springs were replaced (i.e. they did a conversion)? Is it possible that they are the stock springs and they just installed a regular shock instead of the nivos?

I went ahead and ordered new ones from FCP (I plan on towing a lightweight popup trailer). I have read the FAQ re: the install, but it is a little vague. For those of you who have done the install on a 965 with solid axle (not IRS), can you please provide some tips?

Thanks,

John Haddad
