Taillight nut - size? 200 1989

The four nuts that hold a taillight assembly in place: Is there a specific name/size for it? I know that a 10mm wrench and/or a deep socket is needed to tighten/loosen the nuts (aka to remove the assembly).

I went to Ace yesterday trying to get a replacement nut, but I could not find one that matches the others. The nut has a washer-type backing attached to the front. I believe the inner threads are M5 (??) while the actual nut itself is 10mm? The only M5 threaded nuts that Ace had were extremely tiny -- nowhere near 10mm in size.

Is there a direct replacement or do I have to get a separate washer and nut? If so, does anyone know the sizes I need to help me eliminate the guess work? I can't believe how much trouble I am having with something that should be quite simple. Thanks!
