Driving with Emergency Brake On... 120-130 1967

Hello All:

1967 Volvo 122S Wagon. My wife mistakenly drove with the emergency brake on for nearly 15 miles. This is remarkable for two reasons:

1) My wife is actually incredibly sharp, including mechanically, and;

2) The thing must not have been working well in the first place for her to do it at all.

She tends to not pull it up very hard to begin with, fortunately. When she parked the car she realized her mistake and also smelled a bit of smokiness, brake shoe, I am guessing.

The brakes being somewhat more important than, say, the AM radio, I would like to do some sort of inspection or test of the beast this weekend. What do you all recommend?

No, I do not have a hub puller.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers,

Jeff Pucillo
