It sounds to me like the seal on the shaft is leaking. I've never changed the M.C. but from what I read there isn't much to it. RTFM.

As for bleeding the ABS, IMHO there is no way to do it. Maybe you could try this:

Bleed the brakes
Try to activate ABS (snow, ice, mud, etc.)
Bleed the brakes

Again, I've never tried to do this, just an idea.
