V70R battery in my 780T? 700 1990

I've just replaced the weak-ish Volvo battery in my '99 V70R and am wondering about the viability of putting it into my 1990 780 Turbo -- which, as of this writing, has a completely dead battery.

The last words at http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/ElectricalStarting.htm#CarBatteryTips have me a bit nervous about the whole starter/charging system in the 780 working properly with a battery originally intended for a V70R.

Any comments welcome and appreciated. Thanks.
