Remote entry on 240--LED location? 200 1990

Anyone installed a remote entry system with an LED status light on a 240? If so, where did you place the LED?

There is a spot just below and to the right of the headlight switch on the plastic bezel piece that covers the top of the steering column. It has a matching hole through to the underdash area, underneath the knee bolster padding, that is convenient to route the wiring.

This would require drilling about a 3/8” hole through the 1-in. wide plastic bezel. Does this have a chance of success?

How about above the headlight switch and below the rear foglamp switch? Does that section press out from the back? (I have not taken the instrument cluster apart before). Or would one of the spare instrument bezels to the right of the cluster be the safest place to install? Other ideas? Thanks
