lost reverse in transmission 900 1993

In my 1993 960, the wse lights were flashing and the arrow was lit on dash board. I removed the pnp switch and cleaned it. After cycling through on and off about 5 times with the ignition switch, the lights are now OK, but when I shift into reverse, the car feels like it goes in gear for about 5 feet backwards, then it just slips. All forward gears seem to be OK. Any advice out there?
