no FM reception on radio 1996 960 900

On the way into work this morning I notice a strange sound on the FM station I was listening to. It sounded like interference of some sort. I switched stations and found all the stations had this sound.I switched to the AM side and everything was fine.I switched back to FM and after a few seconds all I had was dead air. I went back to AM for about 30 minutes and then switched to FM. Everything was clear as a bell for about 5 seconds, then I got the interfernce sound for a couple seconds, then dead air. Any suggestion on what may be happening?

The only work I did on the car this weekend was change the oil and strip one of the Torx bolts for the spark plug cover(any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated, I did buy an extractor from Sears last night, haven't tried it yet).

Thanks
Neil
