'79 242 fuel tank in to '74 144 (k-jet) 140-160

Hi,

I just picked up a free '79 fuel tank. It took me 1/2 hour to get it out of the car. I also took the fuel lines to the external pump and the external pump. I forgot to pull the wiring that goes from the fuse box to the pre-pump.

Does the pre-pump run off of the fuel injection relay? How does the wiring hook up?

Any tips on installing the tank? It looks like it will bolt right in.

I am hoping that the pre-pump will help my car start better in the morning. It seems that it takes quite a few cranks before the engine fires (cold start works) where my PV 445 and old P1800ES start right up with the turn of the key.

I realize that I might very well have to replace the check valve in my external fuel pump and might and perhaps change the control pressure regulator before the car starts better. I thought I would grab the tank since it was free.
