Engine Flush? 700

Hi -

You say:

The guy there told me the oil was very dark and that I should have the engine flushed.

Oil that does its job gets dark. That's why draining it out gets rid of the stuff in suspension. Find another place to get the oil changed. That guy is more interested in your wallet than your car.

The earlier posts cover the dino vs synthetic quite well.

I run synthetic in my "lower" mileage 1988 244, get Mobil 1 at Target, $3.99 per. Maybe Wal-Mart is cheaper, farther away for me. (Maybe it's the only thing in there not made in China!)

Good Luck,

Bob
