temp gauges 444-544

The original gauge in my '63 PV is intact and still 'functional', however it constantly cries 'Wolf!' as well, climbing alarmingly into the red all the time. Of course, it never actually boiled over. I finally took the sender out of the motor (and carefully stowed it in the engine compartment) and put a modern replacement gauge in it's place (part of a 3 gauge cluster hanging under the dash). And the modern gauge (still mechanical) shos the temp as climbing to 170 - 175 and staying there almost all the time.

Cliff Notes: Don't trust that old gauge.
