960 transmission michroswitch spring locks!!! help! 900 1995

i have gotten all the way to the last step of the replacement, almost, and i cant get the dang switch off. the stupid locking spring things are too hard to get off. could i possibly be doing it wrong? is there a special tool? pls help because i have almost broken one of the posts already. some idiot put it on too hard.

thanks in advance, i dont wanna get to the last step and then put it all back together without doing the job b/c i dont have time.
