Replacing Valve guide Seals w/head on? 120-130

I have a little screw-on spring compressor that I have used with the head on the car (with the rope trick, replacing a broken valve spring on the 1800E) but I really don't think it will work on double valve springs. When I was messing about with the dbl-sprung valves on my PV's head I had the head off and was using some open sided socket I had (to take front struts off my Jetta) and a big C-clamp.

FWIW - the PV head is far from stock and still uses regular valve seals.
