Don't drive or trust that car with the timing off that far, guess you have already paid the last guy for the job. I had an indy, have my 960 off a tooth and a half retarded ,and the car ran real sluggish. You may need to have some pics taken of the belt and someone to that will be willing to testify that this things off that far. This may have caused serious damage to your engine already, if any of the vales have touched a piston, severe damage will occur.
If your fairly handy with tools this is not that difficult a job. The guys here at the brickboard walked me thru it back in the fall, a good sat.morning job. I would not drive the car anywhere, I would have it towd and let your last indy know whats happening and send the s.o.b. the bill for the whole thing unless he wants to make it right, don't know if I'd trust the basta-d knowing what he did last time for that matter. (I started my new edit here)
Ya know I just read back thru and you stopped payment of the check, good for you. If you have driven the car this long, drive it slow to a good shop and have them do it all over again, new belt and all.
Got so damn mad thinking about aholes that do this to people and call it making a living that I flew into the post..
Hope that helps
