good model years for 960 and 940 900

I currently drive a 1988 240 wagon. Overall it has been a great car for the last 7 years. I will most likely look for a replacement early next year.

Because I prefer RWD I am interested in the 960 and 940 models.

What years are good cars for these 2 models?

Were manual transmissions available, and what years?

Is there substantially more power with the 960? Also is the 6 cylinder as robust as the 4 used in the 240s?

The biggest drawback for my 240 (NA) is lack of power.

Thanks,

Mike
