engine cut-off 200

Hi,

My car had been running great, until yesterday
I was in traffic and felt it idle rough if my foot wasn't fully on the brake
very uneven, later on in the trip i was at a red light and the oil light came on, the oil was recently changed..last week, then all lights came on and the engine cut off, i couldn't do anything, i could only steer
anyway eventually i navigated to the curb, put in park and restart
after restart it was fine,

it was running at a normal temperature, according to indicator on dash
any ideas on what caused the malfunction?

its a 93 240DL with 135K miles
