Intermittent Check Engine Light 200 1991

About five seconds after I started my car yesterday, my check engine light came on for about two seconds and then went off. I checked for codes when I got home and got 1-1-1 for both ignition and EFI. (No stored codes.) My car is a 1991 California model, so it has LH-2.4. Are there any conditions that turn on the check engine light that are self correcting? i.e. The fault no longer exists so the computer turn out the light and clears the code itself? I've never had the check engine light on in this car before, but what I assumed was that once it came on, it stayed on until you manually clear the codes. Might it just be a problem with the circuit to the light itself? Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Isaac Hastings
