time to replace our 245, any suggestions? 200

I bought my first Volvo, a 245 DL, in '89. It is now is my daily driver with 376K miles. After that, I bought a '91 744 N/A and sold it to purchase a '94 944 Turbo. Still have the '94 (160K miles)for my wife's errands. All Volvos were bought new. The 944T has been absolutely maimtained by the book. The 245 gets everything it needs because it's my basic transportation. Based on your budget, I'd recommend a low mileage 940 turbo wagon. You can probably get one well under your budget and have funds let over for any needed repairs, tuneups, and reconditioning. Since buying my 944 eleven years ago, I have replaced the radiator, an exhaust manifold gasket, the water pump, an overdrive switch, and some A/C parts. I prefer a turbo because of the performance and have had no turbo maintenance problems at all. The trick for you is to find one that's been well cared for. You didn't say how you'll be driving-- long haul or daily commuter or both. Regardless, I've found my 944T to be a fine car. Unless Volvo re-introduces RWD, I'll never buy another new one. As far as upgrades are concerned, both of my cars have IPD 25mm sway bars. I'm looking for a set of pristine Virgos for the 240 wagon. Good luck with your pursuit.
