94 940 Brake Light: STUMPED!

My 94 940 wagon had a failed turn signal bulb. Replaced the bulb, all systems go! Hit the brakes, now the brake light fails on the same side, replace bulb, no help, replace bulb "holder", no help, fuses fine, connections appear fine.....

The light on this bulb works but the brake light does not...have tried several bulbs.

Any ideas?
