quick question about adjusting kickdown cable 200

I believe you adjust the cable towards the firewall to slacken it.

From what I remember, that's backwards. Remember, you're not adjusting the cable itself but the housing that it fits into. Adjusting it towards the firewall will put more bend into the housing, tightening the cable inside it.
