Turbo fuel requirements? 700

Well the 90 745GL was nailed in her hind quarter last month. Had to put her down, it was very hard to see her go.

But, all things happen for a reason. Her replacement is a 1991 745T with sport trim.

My question? Is premium fuel (92+ octane) a requirement? Can I run mid-grade (89 octane) at all? Occasionall? Obviously 87 is a big no-no.

What does everyone think?

ALSO: I've heard that maybe a turbo should warm-up when cold before being driven and also after driving, the engine should idle for a minute before shutting down to keep the turbo from seizing (?).

I live in south Florida if the climate makes a difference. The car is well-maintained 2 owner with 140k miles.

Thanks in advance. This will be our 4th brick, but first turbo! Thanks!!

Mike
