pre-pump question

In the link above, there is a picture showing the
sending unit, pre-pump junction hose and the pre-pump
itself. Is the pre-pump junction hose the same as the
Pre-pump outlet hose?
What's puzzling is that according to the FAQ section
titled "Replacing the pre-pump outlet hose", one needs
to get under the car to detach the pre-pump output
line from the main fuel pump inlet hose.
There is no mention of this in the section
titled "Changing fuel pre-pump".
