Any Electricians Oit There? 700 1989

The functionality of the ignition switch is relatively simple, in addition to the starter it routes power to "ignition". This is where your feed must be bypassed at the switch, hence it runs with switch off.

If you replaced it, then you must have opened up the dahs under it. Did you not notice spliced and re-connected wiring?? check o nthe side of the ecu, maybe he did it there.

This is the typical problems with 'patching' electronics... troubleshooting in the future.

Your other option is to backtrack, find out what fixed your no start problem, and replace everything (component wise) as it was before.

I have a rule, if I have to get into "component" replacement to solve an issue, I will put back anythign that did not fix the problem.
