mph-kph 200 1987

I thought is was illegal to have a metric speedometer in the USA, with exemptions for classic cars (older than 25 years)? I looked into this when trying to bring my car from Germany in 1988...might have changed since then, or might differ from state to state. Then again, who would ever enforce this? Still worth looking into.

BTW my odometer stopped once too when I reset the tripmeter, got it repaired and never used tripmeter since then, but it still stops sometimes. Lost 400 miles on a trip last year before it magically started up again - on my way back, at the same spot it stopped on the way to. Hmmm. Magnetic field around Charlotte, NC?
