444 wiper park position...? 444-544

Hi all -

I finally got my 444 on the road! Whee! Thanks to Shayne for most excellent help over the weekend.

Aside from the weird smells of curing paint and evaporating chemicals and the amazing number of "things that rattle which are yet to be eradicated."

It's a '57, converted to 12v.

I don't know a lot about electricity, but I do know that the wiper switch and wiper motor seem to be connected properly. However: the wipers don't park in the 'park' position - they just stop wherever they like. If I turn the linkage by hand to put them in the park position, the wiper motor energizes for a moment and thereby prevents them from staying where they're supposed to be when they're turned off.

So - anyone know what's wrong with this picture?

Wired wrong, bad switch, bad motor, other?

Thanks!!
