Some more niceness and not so niceness about it... 140-160

I filled up the gas tank all the way last night, and the gas guage is SPOT ON. When I was low, it indicated about what would've been almost 2 gallons of gas left, and when I filled it up with 13ish gallons of gas, the guage read FULL. It's perfectly reading what's going on in the tank. That's awesome! My 142's doesn't go up all the way...

Another thing, when pulling into the gas station, I put it into gear when I shut it down because it runs on like NO OTHER(thanks to the overly rich setting and high idle speed, both measures taken against vacuum leaks...), and a couple seconds after I had it off, a HUGE BANG GOES BOOM! First ever REAL big loud backfire I've experienced, it was a gunshot. Puff of smoke out the tailpipe and everything. So today I think after I put on another 170miles(or sometime in the middle of there) I'll be messing with that a bit.

Also, on the brake booster, I definitely need it in this car... The brakes are in poor shape already, and it's MUCH harder to stop without the booster compared with my 142. I took off the hose that was going to the breather box that Cameron put on and plugged it off. Did I already tell you that? It's still not optimal... I can feel it leaking a bit, and the booster doesn't feel as good as it did beforehand. I can't get the hose off of the brake booster though, it's got some wierdo clamp on it like no other I've seen, so I haven't been able to get it off yet. I don't know what I'm going to do with that though. There's only one vacuum fitting on this integrated manifold, is that normal? I really NEED two... Or something like that. Because when the breather is hooked up, it really sucks up the crankcase pressure and the booster doesn't work anymore because it's just sucking up all the air/pressure from the breather box(which does have a flame trap BTW, unlike my 142...).

I'm off to portland though, be back later with some more pictures hopefully? I added some night shots after I cleaned it up a bit, but they aren't as bright as they were on the camera, so you can't really see anything. I wasn't expecting to see too much, but they were a tad more visible in the camera before the computer translation. ENJOY!
