Looks like I'll be doing a cat/ O2 sensor job, advice? 200

90 240 wagon auto LH 2.4 197,000

I've been having intermittent stumble problems along with idle issues.
Regular maintenance has been done recently.
I've cleaned throttle body, IAC. , tested throttle switch.
Getting fault codes 231 and 311

By the way what is the speed sensor and where can I find it.(311 fault code)

I don't know when the 02 sensor was last changed, and my cat is fried,(rattling)
I'm assuming this probably trashed the sensor.

I figure this needs to be done before I can rule out the sensor causing the problems
listed above?
I plan on getting parts at FCP.
Any advice or info would be great.
