High Beam headlights out 700 1989

I had the same problem with one high beam in our '88 745 GLE

It turned out to be severe corrosion INSIDE the wires to the high beam. The individual strands were black.

I had to go to a junk yard and take about 4 feet of the harness to the light and splice it in as a replacement for the corroded wires,
