Running it is still a long way off, maybe 2 years or more (see other reply). For now I just want to start it monthly to keep everything lubricated, and have a look at what other people have done. Here in NZ we have 6-monthly car inspections and tough registration inspections to comply with. Customizing is expensive, so that's why I don't want to bother with a good battery now which will just get old anyway. But perhaps a deep cycle battery is the way to go then, as it will tolerate the "storage" better.
