740 injection problems??? 700 1989

As soon as I start cranking the engine, all of the injectors open continuously and fill the engine with fuel. I drained about 2 gallons out of the sump yesterday. Obviosly the car wont start. With the fuel pump jumped and the key on there is good fuel pressure and the injecters are closed. As soon as I crank the injectors go continuously open. It is the same with the key on and jumping the starter solenoid. I have good spark so I feel it is not the crank position sensor. Do the injectors fire simultaneously or are they timed like the spark plugs? My wireing diagram makes it look like simultaneously.

Please help

James
