740 Turbo Filter Adapter and Thermostat Oil Seals 700

I understand it may be possible to re-new the O-Ring oil seals on the oil filter adapter to block and thermostat (Oil Cooler) housing from below without removing the Turbo/Manifold etc.

However its a pig of a job and may require some other parts dismanling?
before doing the job.

Has anybody done the job? and what problems did you encounter?

My filter adapter not only the large bolt to the block at the front but a smaller bolt on a little bracket to steady it further back which I assume also needs to be removed?

I've looked at the FAQs and found some info, but any further information or advice, particulary first hand knowledge would really be appreciated.

I only have have trolley jack, ramps etc no lift or pit.
