original undercoating - similar product available? 120-130

The original undercoating on my 65 122 wagon is pretty well intact. I have taken off some loose bits and used the spray can rubberized stuff for coverage, but the spray stuff does not have the same thickness/consistency as the original. As the original undercoat lasted 40 years (and protected the body quite well), is there a similar product available? It almost seems like roof tar and in my rather ignorant view, is better than the spray can stuff. Searched the forum but no any discussions on this (although the topic of undercoating is a popular one). Perhaps the spray can stuff is the better alternative and I should stick to using it (no pun intended).

Thanks.
