Clutch replacement. 700 1986

Can someone tell me how hard it is to replace the clutch in an 86 740GLE? It has the overdrive 4speed. I bought the car pretty cheap and knew the clutch was on the weak side. I have adjusted it to about as far as it will go, so will need to replace the clutch soon or have it done. I would prefer to do it myself if not to difficult. Can an average backyard mechanic do it, and do you need any special tools?
