Car runs with key off and out 200

Last weekend my 86, 244, m46 ca.282,000 miles, the taillights and poarking lights would stay on after ignition key removal. Due to heavy rain and a leak above the fuse box, I cleaned and sealed. Seemed to fix the lighting problem. Just now turned off the car and removed the key- car continued to run, shifted to neutral and the car shut off.
Bad ignition switch? other ideas?
From what I remember reading swapping out the switch is not a walk in ther park.
Ricko
