And assuming gas weighs about 6 to 8 lbs per gallon?

So for the question, is it 36 lbs/hr?

68 ml/30 sec = 136 ml/min.

60 x 136 ml/min = 8.16 liters/hr = 1.8 gal/hr

6 lbs/gal x 1.8 gal/hr = 10.8 lbs/hr.
or if it weighs 8 lbs/gal, then 14.4 lbs/hr.

Neither are even close to 36 lbs/hr! So something is wrong -- probably the 68 ml per 30 sec., or the memory that it should be 36 lbs/hr?
