door/map pocket question/comments 700 1989

I got a carpeted 760 map pocket for my '89 745. These map pockets are stronger because of the carpet but also a top piece of plastic trim that reinforces the "pocket part" to the solid part which is screwed to door panel.

Something to consider: the 760 map pocket only will accommodate 2 of the red plastic door panel retaining pins (at bottom of door). Note you'll need to remove the center one if you want it to fit properly.

But the dang thing binds on the B pillar trim because it's a bit wider due to carpeting. I guess I'm going to have to elongate the holes in door panel so I can slide the pocket toward the A pillar.

Anyone had trouble fitting the carpeted map pockets in a 740?
