Quick test for clutch condition 700 1991

Hi: Anyone have a quick check for clutch condition w/o pulling trans.? Other than a little stiff going into 1st it functions fine.
I am not sure how many miles are on this one & really don't want to discover it slipping while on a trip.
Any hints or points to check would be appreciated.
