91 940 turbo delayed up shift from 2 nd to 3 rd and 4 th 900

I have two problems. The first one is I can,t get the hood open on my 91 940 se wagon. I pull the hood release and nothing happens. The second is when I drive the car it shifts fine from 1 st to 2 nd but it will not shift to third unless I let off of the accelarator, this happens at about 4 k rpms also during this time lots of black smoke. The car doesn't smoke otherwise. Also duirng this time the power is not very smooth, it cuts back alot. Could this be a up shift/ shift lock module problem. When I press the shift lock button on the side of the shifter, the arrow light on the dash doesn,t come on or go off. Or is it a turbo problem, the turbo seems to pull good and good reading on the gauge.
