Correct Manifold Vacuum 700

I have an old vacuum gauge that I bought back in the "carburetor days" that has a "normal" zone around 20-22 in. My turbo 740 reads steady but lower in the 17-18 range. Do FI engines have a lower "normal" range than carbureted engines or is my gauge just reading low because it's old? The engine idles fine and seems to run very well. I know it's not calibrated but the boost gauge reads between 9 and 10 o'clock when idleing.
