Here's something you don't see everyday 700

So, I have a lovely 1989 780 Bertone, 151k miles, sweet ride, but she needs some lovin’ and this is something I have NO clue about, I’m just not as good with electrical.

The previous owner decided he wanted an in dash CD player instead of the Tape/Equalizer combo that came with the car. (Whatever) I decide that I want the tape deck back in the car and it’s in the trunk so, fine. I pull the CD player out and there is about a mile of cable balled up back there, apparently the brain surgeon used a few hundred feet to go a few inches, sweet. So I spend some time, sort all that out and get the cables out for the CD player.

Note: I haven’t wired the tape deck back in yet because the rocket scientist, instead of getting a $5 adapter from Crutchfield, just hacked some wires and spliced things together all neat and pretty like so I have to splice back into the original wires, this weekends project.

But, back to my original issue, now things like the dash board clock don’t work AND if I’m in the car, doors closed and I try to turn on the overhead light, the door alarm dings. WHAT!?!? If anyone has any thoughts on how this happened or how I can correct it, please let me know. Or even knows of a good wiring resource for late 80’s Volvo’s

Thanks
